I think you have one of the most valuable and insightful business writing resources on the web (and, as Im sure you know, there are thousands of them out there). No matter how busy I am, your newsletter is the one email I always open the moment it hits my inbox!
Leslie Talbot
Principal, G2G Sales, Cambridge, MA

I have to stop myself replying to your email each week to tell you how great I think your writing is. I've held off for two months now, so: I think your writing is great. Yours is the only newsletter that I read every time. Inspiring and concise, with humour. Love it.

You don't know me, but you've made such a big difference in my writing as I launched and then grew my copywriting business over the past year. Your newsletter is the only one I read right when I get it.
Kelly Parkinson,
Copylicious
Oakland, Calif.

I read your Power Writing tips religiously. I have learned more from them than I did in all my years at Catholic School. Your stuff is valuable to everyone regardless of their business function.

Unlike most newsletters I subscribe to (many of which I delete in frustration or let accumulate in my inbox for "later") I read yours the moment they come in. I love that they’re short, easy to read, and informative.

Just had to tell you that, once again, your newsletter has brought enlightenment, enjoyment, and a welcome dose of sanity to my inbox. I love hearing from you each week.

I just wanted to let you know that I read 100% of your writing. Of the many newsletters that come to my inbox, yours is the only one I read from start to finish every time. TGIT (Thank God it's Tuesday).

Thank you for your recent newsletter. What a powerful concept! I think you've just given me a key to my writer's block. Your newsletter is terrific!
Lisa Ham
Bend, Ore.

I just don’t know how you do it. Every column of yours I read is noteworthy. I’m working on two books (one for Oxford University Press and the other for Prometheus Books) that are each due in a couple of months. I’ve got two major research projects and teaching to boot. I don’t read anything extra.
Except your emails. They’re worth their weight in gold.

As a new writer and web owner, I had subscribed to several writing-type newsletters -- yours is the only one I have kept. It's short and sweet; and it offers value.

I just wanted to let you know, I look forward to Tuesdays. Because of you. Thanks for the inspiration and insight.

Your newsletter is funny/interesting because you write about stuff I already know, but for some reason need to hear again in small portions. So incredibly useful.

Publication Coach testimonials

jeff_simon.jpgThe time it takes me to write has improved dramatically. I now write my newsletters five times faster than I used to. You helped me recognize how the flow can be helpful and also provided a very effective method for helping me find it.

eve_johnson.jpgIf I had to pick the one most useful part of the experience, it was the way you helped me replace my original writing process, a blind and sometimes panicked groping, with a clear understanding of the distinct stages of writing, along with a tool kit of techniques applicable to each stage. I'd also like to mention your talent as a listener, and your ability to not only ask the right questions, but to show me how to step back from my work and generate those questions myself. And your friendliness and respect for my point of view made even the line-by-line editing fun. You gave me a set of tools that I've been able to use ever since. I'll always be grateful.

edward_wright.jpg Your analysis was so credible and creative that we were able to implement it immediately. The process was painless and thoroughly professional. You simply helped us communicate more effectively with little or no added publication costs. I recommend this service to any company producing publications for customers or employees.

janet_leishman.jpgAt first it struck me as a bit strange to work with a writing coach long distance, versus sitting across the table from one another, but it's turned out to be a great thing for me. It's a really good way to learn! I'm using real life, hands-on experience. It's nice not being one of many students in a classroom. Daphne has helped me develop a good methodology for writing faster - a real step-by-step approach to how you go about it. I can't say enough about it.

mark_tyrrell.jpg I have been writing online articles for years and feel I've got relevant and interesting things to say in the field of psychology. Daphne has helped shape my thoughts and bring concision and clarity to my writing. She gave me tips and writing suggestions that were instantly applicable and made a difference from the first. The physical distance between us (she in Vancouver, Canada; me in Brighton, England) wasn't an issue.

"I've been a writer for many years now but I am always looking for new methods, techniques and ideas to make my work more appealing to my target audience. Working with Daphne pointed out what I now see as obvious flaws with my writing style. She helped me find my voice as she put it, and gave me some techniques I could easily work into my own way of writing. This has helped me make my articles more accessible to my audience. All of this was achieved in a very timely manner over email. I've never actually met her but would look her up if I ever visit her part of the world!"

jan_tollefson.jpgYour comments were uniformly positive and encouraging, starting with "what worked" and then moving to what we could improve upon. Your concise, clear recommendations resulted in major improvements to our newsletter, and grateful remarks from our donors.

ruth_raymond.jpgDaphne is a kind of sculptor who shapes writers. She gives feedback so useful that you can't help but improve, no matter how well you write. She has a way of finding the flaws that I can't see when I'm too close to a piece. And as if all this weren't enough, she also gives praise where praise is due. When I'm agonizing over a lede, I pass it to my partner for a second opinion. And he'll say, "It's good, but is it Daphne-good?" We use that expression whether we're actually writing for her or not, so I guess she's had a lasting influence on my speech as well as my writing!
